First built in 1923, and known as the Type 35B or 35C with either 2,3 or 2,0 litre engine respectively, this car was capable of speeds well in excess of 100 mph, and the fastest speed recorded in 1928 was 122,5 mph.

The (Y6-2) 1926 Type 35 Bugatti joined the range in 1961.

Livery: (Transfer)
Racing number '6' in red on white disc on both sides of tail.

Variations/Rarities: It was painted French racing blue and later recoloured red. An early colour trial model with grey tyres was finished in the metallic green of the (Y2-2) Renault and was probably not issued as a regular production model.
Issued in 1961 and phased out in 1967, there are no colour variations on either the blue or red models.
There are slight differences to the wheel rim sizes and three main types of tyre exist; grey and black knobbly treads and black fine treads.
The plate components; steering wheel, brake lever, and road wheels, can be found in unplated/bare metal.
Throughout production the seat component remained in black plastic however as the body colour changed, so did the colour of the instrument panel and floor from red to white.
The racing number transfers, correctly apllied, are a red '6' on white background, but odd models have been reported with a red '9' - the number '6' upside down. Black '5' and '3' transfers have also been reported, but the authenticity of these can be doubtful.
The petrol filler cap was usually painted gold but this trim can be omitted or can be missing because the model has rubbed against the interior of its box.

Although red bugatti's were only in production for two years, more were produced than the previous blue ones which were in production for four years. Therefore, blue Bugatti's are more valuable.
Models with no trim (body colour) to the radiator grille are hard to find and the variation in blue with white dashboard is rare.
The red bugatti can be found with gold trim or red trim to the radiator grille but the model with a black dashboard is rare.
Red model in box showing red model attracts extra premium.
A chrome version also appeared as a rarity.

An extremely rare version of the model in metallic green, was auctioned in May 2013 and sold for £1,288.88 (approx. ZAR 28,500.00)
